    A visit usually takes around 1.5 to 2 hours, so arriving well before last entry lets you explore the exhibitions, walk through the spheres, and enjoy the panoramic views without rushing.

    Best times to visit:
    -At opening (from 10:00): Arriving as the doors open is the best way to beat the crowds.
    -Late afternoon (from around 17:00): Visitor numbers tend to ease, but you will have less than an hour before closing, so this suits a shorter visit.
    -Weekdays: Fewer tour groups compared to weekends and school holidays.
    -Avoid 11:00 to 15:00: This is the busiest part of the day.

    Booking your ticket online lets you skip the ticket-office queue, although you will still queue to enter the Atomium. Waits can be longer during school holidays and other peak periods.

Plan Your Route

The easiest way to reach the Atomium is by metro.
Take Line 6 in the direction of Roi Baudouin / Koning Boudewijn and get off at Heysel / Heizel. From the station, the Atomium is about a 5-minute walk through the park. The route is flat and well signposted, making it suitable for visitors of all ages.

  • Located in the upper sphere, the Atomium restaurant serves Belgian specialities and seasonal dishes with panoramic views over Brussels. It is independently managed, so you do not need an Atomium ticket to dine there, and a restaurant reservation does not include admission to the Atomium.

    Whether you stop for breakfast, lunch or a drink at the bar, the restaurant adds an extra highlight to your visit. Dinner is served in the evening, and booking is essential.

  • Access for visitors with reduced mobility is limited because of the building’s architecture.

    -Wheelchair users can reach the Panorama in the upper sphere by lift
    -The other spheres are reached only by escalators (very steep) and stairs, with 80 steps up and 167 steps down in total
    -Adapted toilets are available at the back of the ticket pavilion
    -Visitors with reduced mobility and one companion have priority access to the entrance and the lift
    -Staff are present in the spheres to answer questions

    The lift can cause dizziness, and some escalators and temporary exhibitions use strobe-like lighting effects that may be uncomfortable for some visitors.
